We like to make ourselves available and offer teens advice for free as we do not want to make money an issue for teens to get the help they need. In Yahoo Answers, I was recently nominated for the best two answers offering teens advice with the challenges they face. The first problem “My dad favors my older sister and it’s causing family problems. What do I do?”, this teen was upset because her dad was favoring her sister and giving her more attention because she was having a lot of issues with drinking and rebellion. The girl teenager seeking advice was feeling unloved, not important, and felt she was being treated unfairly. My advice to her was that at some point in our life as the “child”, many of us will have to realize that our parents are not perfect and that no matter how “bad” of a parent they may be, they are still doing the best they can and to not take things personal.

The second question I was selected for having the best answer came from another girl, “Strange relationship please help me figure it out”. This teenage girl was confused about messages a boy was sending her about his intention. The advice I gave her was that boys at this age are confused and do not know who they are or what they want. They also confuse their sexual desires with love and romance.
