When I tell people that I am a teen life coach the first thing they always say is, “Oh, I didn’t know that teens can have a life coach as well”. And I always say, “Of course! Life Coaches can help any person no matter what stage of life they are at”. If you read up on why I chose to be a teen life coach versus doing teen therapy or teen counseling, you will then know where I am coming from. Basically a teen life coach is the same as a life coach for adults in that we focus on what the teen wants to accomplish and the steps they can take to improve their lives. Unlike teen therapy, we focus on the positive and know that a teen has all the answers and just needs the space to discover them. As a teen life coach, my goal is to help your teen become self-reliant and self-responsible by understanding the impact of their intentions, thoughts, choices, and actions.
I think its also important to discuss what a teen life coach is not:
We do not support teens who have mental conditions or challenges such as ADD or ADHD.
We do not support teens who have severe challenges such as addictions to hard drugs as heroin and meth.
We do not help teens who are not open to getting help
