Earning your trust is our number one priority
Getting help for your teen can be one of the most challenging jobs you face as a parent. First and foremost we want to extend to you as a parent that we understand how concerned you must feel right now about your troubled teen and want to acknowledge you for reaching out for some help with your teen or young adult. Even if you choose not to work with us, the fact that you are looking for help is fantastic! Raising a teen or young adult in Los Angeles where they are confronted with so many dilemmas and choices can be very scary. More so, choosing to work with someone you don’t know can be even scarier. That’s why at the Teen Support Institute of Los Angeles we offer a free twenty-minute consultation so you can get a sense of us and see if we feel right to you. At the same time, we want to understand your situation so we can get a better sense of whether or not we believe we can be of service. Rest assured if we feel we cannot help we will tell you right away. Below is a basic outline of how we work as a Los Angeles Teen Life Coach and/or Parent Consultant.

Teen Life Coach |
We believe that every child is born with a unique gift and that given the opportunity, they will flourish with it. Our role as a Teen Life Coach is to provide a safe space for your troubled teen or young adult to discover his or her own way in life or their own answers to their problems. We never tell them what to do and you as a parent are always involved in any major decision making process. We believe that by supporting your teen’s path towards self-discovery by clearly outlining their choices and the circumstances that come with them, it strengthens their decision making process and prepares them for adulthood. While your teen will ultimately make these decisions, we will hold them accountable and encourage self-responsibility without judging or condemning. We strongly believe that “falling down” is a valuable process in life and we will be there to help pick them up. All information will be kept confidential unless required by law.

Parent Consultant |
As Albert Einstein once said: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.” As we look around the world and see the typical approach parents have used to raise their kids (sheltering them, yelling, telling them what to do, setting a bad example, etc.) we can clearly see this is not working. At the Teen Support Institute of Los Angeles, our approach and philosophy to supporting you as a parent is not like most teen counselors or teen therapists in Los Angeles. Working with us you will quickly see that how you perceive your relationship with your teen or young adult plays a big part in transforming the issue at hand. We are here to offer parents clear insight into what their teen or young adult is going through and to teach you tools and techniques in how to transform them while building a stronger relationship with your troubled teen. While we never tell a parent what to do, we will share with you some choices you can make and the potential results that may come with them.
If we see that your child is dealing with something that is out of our expertise level, we will tell you up front. If we feel we are no longer being of service we will tell you right away. All information will be kept confidential unless required by law.
